Nemesis

Pheasants are always my photographic nemesis, particularly at this time of year when there are so many of them around. This one was no exception. After work as I was driving down the lane towards home I spotted him sitting having a snooze on a log, looking very much the perfect photograph. I went a little further along the lane until I could turn the car round and drove back to where the pheasant was and I was delighted to see that he was still posing nicely. I slowly pulled over onto the roadside verge, switched the radio off, picked up my camera, switched it on, removed the lens cap (yes, I thought of everything), slowly wound the window down and stealthily took aim...and he made a run for it :/
