Every Day Another Miracle
When I left Japan, the doctors were talking of my mother's life in terms of days. Now they are talking in terms of weeks. Mum's positive mindset is partly responsible for this miraculous turn of events. So many people have remarked upon how wonderfully stoic she is despite the gravity of her situation. However, she has also told me that her love for her family has given her strength. She had not managed to hold down any solid food for three weeks before I returned to England on Friday. Since then, she has eaten and held down increasing amounts of solid food. Today, the district nurse said she may soon be able to take her medicine orally and thereby have her syringe drive removed. She is a marvel.
Today's photo shows Mum taking strength talking to her grandchildren back in Japan.
On another positive note, my 100 Ks Against Cancer fundraiser is now at 91%. Hopefully I can raise at least Y50,000 before I run on Sunday. That would be great.
