Miner's lettuce

During the California Gold Rush workers gathered the leaves of the Spring Beauty (Montia Perfoliata or Claytonia p) as a source of Vitamin C to prevent scurvy. It grew abundantly and became known as Miner's Lettuce as a result. It was subsequently introduced into Britain and sometimes grown as a vegetable but this plant was growing on sandy soil beside a coniferous wood. I think this tiny Longhorn Beetle might be one of the pine boring types and having a rest upon the strange leaf of the Spring Beauty plant.
