Life's a Beach

I'm very lucky to work so close to the beach and now the weather's getting nicer, I've been walking down there to have my lunch.

Things aren't great at work at the moment - I'm ok, but Mick my boss, has been put in a position where he's going to tender his resignation by the end of this week. So I don't know if he'll be there when I go back in on Monday, or whether they'll make him go on gardening leave. It's such a shame as we worked well together and he's been very supportive through my cancer diagnosis and treatment. It also poses the question as to what will happen to me, although I do work for another solicitor too, so hopefully I'll be ok.

Anyway, today is my Friday and I'm looking forward to a few days off - I started coughing again and feel quite tired. It's a funny virus that seems to come and go, but at least I'm not as bad as a couple of weeks ago.

Oh, we have had some good news today - we want to build a summerhouse at the side of our house, but because it will be at the side, adjoining the farmland that falls within the South Downs, there can be restrictions. Anyway we filled in a pre-planning application to see if it would be a permitted development and it is! We're really pleased because when the wind blows across those fields it gets impossible to sit outside and this way, we'll still be able to enjoy the view.

Alan's now in planning mode as he's going to level the ground and make the base himself, and he's going to insulate it and then clad the walls so that we can use it even on cooler days.
