AMAZING FENNEL PLANTS
in the big pots on the terrace. And they are not the only plants that has grown gigantic. The hollyhocks for instance, one is more than 3 metres high, with beautiful pink flowers. But the fennel catches the eye, it is a herb of course and I will find out when and what to eat of it. If ever.
A relaxing day this must be. At seven o'clock in the morning I was out of bed and after a sip of tea in the garden. Almost liking to start immediately. Ho, ho, I said to myself this must be a day of adjusting to changed circumstances. Go slowly and jump not in activity!
But of course I cannot refrain from cutting the withered roses away and from trying to catch the hoverflies on the fennel flowers.
My haiku:
Fennel, thyme, and rose
Grasses green, honeysuckle
Lavender and on and on
And the proverb:
The higher the plum-tree the riper the plum.
No experience with this one, as I do not have fruit-trees at all.
