Brown-hooded kingfisher

I only had time for a quick walk round Zandspruit before we headed off to Johannesburg airport for our flight back home. The light was poor when I took this photo early morning (my excuse).

On the trip I saw 124 species of bird, of which 105 were new for me, as I'd never set foot in Africa before. We also saw 32 species of mammal, including all the 'Big Five' dangerous animals (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, elephant).
