Ramsons

On this morning's early walk with the spaniel I noticed that the first flowers have started to appear on the wild garlic (allium ursinum) down in the woods. 

Yesterday I commented that I hadn't seen any early purple orchids yet this year. This afternoon I found lots of them - flower spikes starting to open so they should be ready for photographing any day soon.
