600 years ago...
Just south of York University sits these plaques (see Extra Photos for enlargements) marking the site of an very large First Nations village. Here, in a series of longhouses surrounded by palisade walls, lived over 1,000 Huron-Wendat Nation (aka Wyandot people) who were part of the Huron Confederacy and, later, the Iroquois Confederacy.
