Eye to Eye

Butterflies in our vegetable plot.

There were lots of these Meadow Browns? on the old fashioned marigolds we grow in the veg plot to make it more colourful and attract the insects, this morning. Large is better. Then things went downhill. I spent an hour in a barn of young bulls, no doubt waiting on death row (felt depressed for them), trying to capture swallows nesting there but it was too dark and they were too fast as they swooped in and out of the barn. Another hour was spent on a nearby meadow that still had not been cut so there were lots of butterflies there but I dropped my macro lens cap. Looking for a lens cap in a hay field was no joke especially when it started to rain. I did not find it but I did find this unindifiable fungus for you botany experts. Now I am worrying about the cow that will eventually eat the lens cap in the bale of hay in which it will end up.
Gaby has snapped her anterior cruxiate ligament for those who were following her progress, she is quite relieved as it could have been worse!
I am blipping early so I can spend time making her a book of the walks we have done together over the past 3 years.
