Pomp

I adore a bit of pomp and ceremony so was delighted to hear that Shrewsbury would be celebrating the Queen's birthday this evening on our way home from spoons. I had remarked to Malesi earlier in the day, with some disgust, that nobody seemed to be marking the occasion.

I don't know where I stand on the future of the monarchy but I do think our Queen has served us well and deserves celebrating. And I do love a hearty rendition of the national anthem.

A flame was lit and people with lots of bling said some things. I loved every minute of it.
