Last of the daffodils

Walking through Mote Park this afternoon we saw the last knockings of a vast swathe of daffs that fronted on to the old Mote House. It's been a long season for daffs, I posted the first showing on 16th December last year but there are still blooms around towards the end of April.

A day of tasks today. A run first, then a bit of work to complete the organisation of a teleconference next Tuesday, then spent a while researching car insurance for the new vehicle which arrives on 4th May. Although I declared the collision in January and the subsequent claim on the online form I rang to check with the company to ensure they were happy. They were, so that's all sorted.

After that an engineer arrived to have a look at the defunct dishwasher. The circulation pump has failed, it would cost £240 to repair. He was here 10 minutes and charged £39. To be fair we knew the charge but felt it was worth seeing if the machine could be repaired rather than buying a new one. We have to buy a new one now.

Cut the grass and tidied up outside next, then went for a walk. Enjoyed watching the celebrations of the Queen's 90th birthday. At this rate I'll live my whole life as a second Elizabethan. She seems indestrucatable, as does the Duke. Many happy returns.
