Backside part of the old Bridewell Police Station
the main part of which is now used as a circus school, dance studio, exhibition space and studios. The police cells in the basement are used for various gigs and micro-festivals.
It was built in 1928 and opened as a police station in November 1930 near the site of a previous station. Neighbouring buildings housed law courts and a fire station. It closed as a working police station in August 2005. Now listed as Grade 11 by English Heritage. In the background yet more student accommodation is being built.
Derelict Sunday is ds27 this week - remember you can put your entry/ies in on any day during the week. My results should be on Wednesday next and I will hope to manage the links correctly this time.
