Desert in miniature

Instead of cacti here are some Horsetails pushing through the earth in an arable field.  Horsetails are a very ancient plant - three hundred million years!!!  Before the dinosaurs even! Much much later the monks used to use the scratchy fronds to burnish their metal ware and silver. Those who use herbal remedies will also find this plant useful for certain complaints.
