Buxton's 'salt glacier'
It looks quite surreal when you first see it. This is natural mineral leaching, mineral salts, bled out from old quarry spoil by the drainage of rainwater. And yes, they are old tyres; occasionally kids roll them down to see what effect they have on the crystalline surface. Not much, as you can see.

I think it has a strange kind of beauty, but perhaps that's just me.
