Sand lilies
Afternoon on the beach. The dunes near us are being recovered; a local charity is organising twice daily watering of the new plants and timber posts have been installed to help try and keep beach users off the more sensitive areas.
This time of year they are covered in sand lilies (sea daffodils) which in much of the Mediterranean are becoming endangered as dunes are destroyed to make way for beach development
And here people still pick them, accidentally pulling up the fragile bulbs. I wish people could be more aware of the natural environment!!
