As I was wandering through my yard today practicing a little barefoot earthing, I spotted one single violet...just one single purple violet in the whole entire yard. Of course, I had to go back inside the house and grab my camera to take its picture. 
Now, at my mother's house, the side yard erupts each Spring into a royal purple carpet of violets, which has become a gorgeous background for many a photo over the years. 
But here in my yard, I have the brave "lone wolf" violet standing steadfastly alongside his trusty companion lemon yellow "dandy-lion."
