Bloodroot


Bloodroot is a little wildflower that has leaves wrapping
around its stem in a cosy fashion.  In my garden, I have gone from
a few from the woodlands to four or five colonies spread
hither and tither.  Only recently have I read that ants carry
these seeds back to their nests, therefore spreading a lovely
carpet.  They are an inspiring addition to spring!
