Night Heron

Not having seen a Night Heron for a very, very long time, I was pleased to see this one, casting his beady, unusual orange/red eyes over the Wadi to see if it would suit as a possible fishing location. He flew right over my head so this is a real grab shot, from the extra photo, you can clearly see his unusual wings with the outer ends at a different angle. I'm sure an aircraft person would be able to explain why this is-something to do with extra lift and aerodynamics.
