Messing About In A Boat

As I rode my bike along the towpath it wasn't  long before I saw a narrow boat heading for the Medlock  My warning came too late , they were already stuck in garbage , silt and more . The boat ( hired for the day ) had no pole, no rope, so no way could people on the banks help . The water is shallow but unsafe to wade through  .Regular canal boaters are very helpful and here you see two .First day of their 10 day holiday they got most of the people off and onto their boat , Then threw their ropes to the ropeless boat with instructions how to fix ..It was tricky as towing could not work until the holiday makers had nudged the day hire..., jolting it out of mud .Moral  Never go on a day hire boat which does not have basic gear .
