Diary of an Edinburgher

Off colour?

A loooong lie in this morning. Archie could have slept on longer, but was roused well after 9am. He's been not quite himself for the last couple of days...

- No galloping into the bedroom when the alarm goes off - just a stroll...
- No playing with his toys...
- No rushing to the door when walkies are mentioned...
- No charging in like a crazed animal after a walk...

When we took him up the Hill, he was as energetic as usual, running between us, and following a big boundy greyhound around, even though it had knocked him over and all the other wee dogs were afraid of it.

In the afternoon Rufus and his mum came for a G&T and a report on last week's holiday in Bratislava. One of our presents was a bottle of Slovakian gin. Very nice too.

The warm spell we enjoyed for a few days has gone again. In fact, there were a few hailstones as I brought the washing in, though they didn't amount to much. Crazy weather.

Mind you, we don't have earthquakes, for which I am very thankful, having lived through dozens of 'em in NZ for many years.

PS 6.30pm - he's playing tug-of-war.
