over the garden wall

We arrived at our holiday barn cottage just after 3 o'clock. It was freezing so the first job was to get the wood burning stove lit. This was supposed to heat the radiators but it had little effect. 

A few snow flurries followed but it only settled further up the fells. The garden was sodden but I slid and squelched across it to take a few photos of the barn in front. I'd hoped it might have a resident owl but there were no sightings.
