Love is something if you give it away

Today was the last day of the academic year for us in England. A bittersweet day especially for those of us teaching children who are moving on to new schools in September. As already mentioned, we have also said goodbye to several members of staff as well.

These felt hearts will, I hope, be sewn together as a memento for 2 such people who have shown me much love and support over the last few years. One of the things I try to instill in the children I teach is that caring for others is a reward in itself. We learn a song about a magic penny.

It's just like a magic penny, hold it tight and you won't have any.
Lend it spend it and you'll have so many they'll roll all over the floor.

Over the last few months on Twitter I have watched a romance develop which today has resulted in an engagement. A big return on a little investment of love.
