the tutu strikes back
Eve's cake was prepared a bit early this year, her birthday isn't until Wednesday but we're celebrating with family and friends tomorrow.
She requested a star wars ballerina cake which took me slightly by surprise. Turning 4 is clearly the time to push the cake boundaries. I love that Eve has an independent mind and a bit of a nutter streak - I feel ridiculously chuffed to get to be her Mum.
Street pastors tonight was crazy busy - a spot of domestic violence, a poor chap with horrendous anxiety, 1001 drunken falls, we swept up a ton of broken glass to save the feet of various girls who can't walk in their shoes after a few sherbets and ended with a stint waiting for an ambulance with an elderly guy who was fitting and shaking having drunk far too much. I was really concerned but then the ambulance turned up and they knew him by name. He is apparently unwell generally, struggles with his memory but somehow manages to get good and drunk every now and then and ends up in a pickle. Sad but heartening to see how many people stop and want to help when someone is in trouble.
