Bite me

Well, the forecast was not wrong - it rained morning, noon and night.

It so happened that we had a playdate at our house which can be great when the sun shines and the garden becomes an extra room, but it wasn't to be today. Eva and Leo (friend and sibling from nursery) came along in the morning and they had fun running around indoors but it ended in tears when Little D decided to sink his teeth into baby Leo's forehead. This is the third time in three days he's bitten another child and I can only hope it's a teething thing rather than an insatiable appetite for people. The teething thing makes sense as sleep has once again become a thing of the past.

Anyway, our guests made a relatively swift exit and after nap time I decided to relent and allow the kids out in the rain. As is the way with these two, they loved squelching around in the mud and getting as dirty as possible.

Sand bucket in hand, this shot acts as a reminder that it's summer, but not as we know it.
