A Day At A Time.

Jean De La Lune

This evening we partied abroad the brigantine Jean De La Lune. She is a training vessel, visiting Gibraltar as part of her voyages around the western coasts of Europe and Africa.

On board was an interesting cross-section of Gib society as guests of the Captain of the Port. One of them was Commodore Jaimie Miller RN, who, it turned out, as he opened more and more sheets to the wind, was on the Coventry during the Falklands campaign, when she was sunk by an Argentinian Exocet missile. As if that wasn't bad enough, his lifeboat capsized and he had to "do a Poseidon Adventure", as he put it, to escape.

Later we had some tapas in La Pampa before returning home.

What a fun evening!
