One Good Thing
Went out tonight for a leisurely cycle with my big camera in my bike rucksack hoping for some interesting blip opportunities in some wonderful light but from the minute I sat in the saddle everything felt ****. Don't know what it was but I felt flat, every turn was an effort and anything remotely technical in terms of biking went wrong. I even managed to do a somersault over the handlebars on a slight downhill section that I've never had a problem with before. Thankfully the camera was ok but my frustration and anger grew the further I went. Even in terms of blips I struggled - some opportunities were just missed - a bird of prey on a pole I tried to creep up on flew away just as I was about to snap, two deer crossed my path and then stood and watched me take out my camera before heading off and the sun disappeared. So I went back to the poppies I visited last week as a last resort. And they had take a beating with the rain we've had but I managed to get this one which was such a lovely colour. Made it all worthwhile in the end.
