Like No Other
This photograph is of a remarkable man - my brother Gary.
A former paratrooper, (although he will tell you "once a Para, always a Para"), he completed his full service and for the last twenty-one years has worked for the MOD, fulfilling a demanding role well.
Although we live 250 miles apart we are probably closer than at any time since we were young lads.
Recent major surgery and illness would knock most people for six but we recently enjoyed a great week together in Spain, no wives or children, just the two of us enjoying each other's company over gentle walks, long meals and the occasional beer!
Next week it is the Army v Navy rugby match at Twickenham where we will be part of the 82,000 enjoying a great day out.
Originally it was Gary, me and our Dad who went but it has now grown into a family event with up to eighteen of us going, all of us looking forward to it.
So on Saturday next I will have the opportunity to raise my glass to and with a remarkable man.
