Spring gentian garden

The flowers are just beginning to burst through and we are starting to see some colour at last on the brown grass. These gentian were a big surprise today and being one of my favourite flowers I couldn't resist them. The day was a mixture of snowflakes and sunshine. I started with a bike ride (cold toes and ears, warm hands), followed by a long dog walk with friends and a late lunch on their sheltered terrasse. A hare sprang in front of us on the walk and we watched 5 young deer scampering up the mountainsides. Sadly I wasn't quick enough for the hare!
