I love, love, love watching these guys run! It is simply breathtaking.

GravyC and I drove to 'The Elephant and Castle' from his parent's house, then ran the 5 miles or so to mile 14 of the London Marathon course. This is where GravyC has always stationed himself when I have been running the marathon. It's a great spot because mile 21 is just over the road. We missed the elite women going through 14 miles, but we're in plenty of time to see these elite men. The 2 men in yellow headbands are Eliud Kipchoge, the eventual winner (in 2.03.05 - 8 seconds outside of the world record) and Stanley Biwott who finished some 50 seconds behind. Kenenisa Bekele, who finished 3rd, is just out of the picture at the back of the group.

They had just gone through 14 miles when the leading ladies came the other way at 21 miles. By the time the leading men had passed 21 miles, we were watching out for GravyC's brother Alan. Apart from the fact that I got desperately cold, I had the best time I've had in a long time. We missed all our club mates unfortunately, but they all had great times.

In other news: Noo allowed his cousin Nelly (a hairdresser in real life!) to trim his mop.....
