Knowlton Church
Another ruinous day catching two local ruins plus a bit of coastline. This particular ruin dating from the 11th century used to be the local church for the village of Knowlton; it was the Black Death in 1485 which wiped out the population. The church continued to be used, however, until 1747 when a new roof was fitted - this promptly collapsed and the building was used no more! It is a very attractive site and popular with families for a local walk while the children run around - rather too many for my liking today but I suppose it is Sunday and a day to be out and about having fun!
Back in Bournemouth for the last evening of the Royal Photographic Visual Arts weekend; an interesting speaker before dinner and then looking at some member images afterwards which made for a very late finish. Home tomorrow.
Part of the Bournemouth cliff collapsed early this morning. Fortunately an engineer repairing the cliff lift yesterday noticed a crack in the rock and so this area had already been closed off. Rather tight for comfort though as the lift would have been in use yesterday.
