Three in a Row

Not these three artworks, although they come close -- three blips in a row from me featuring art!

We went to the tiny town of Edison this morning for several reasons. The first was to enjoy an indulgent breakfast at Tweets, where we each enjoyed a toasted and buttered croissant filled with scrambled egg, Gruyere cheese, and ham, accompanied by an excellent salad of fresh greens and a couple of tasty orange wedges.

The second was for Phil to visit Smith & Vallee Woodworks to purchase a piece of live edge wood to make a coffee table -- mission accomplished, he's now working on a lovely slab of maple.

And the third was to visit the Smith & Vallee Gallery to see the current exhibit --"'Warping". I've never before seen artworks like those that sculptors Rik Allen and Lanny Bergner collaborated on! As noted on the gallery's website, "Lanny's bronze and copper mesh wire forms are used as a framework for Rik's molten glass, which is blown through, creating both geometric and organic forms."

Their works look like pure magic to me, and I hope you enjoy them as much I did! If you're in the area, stop by through Sunday, May 1, to see these amazing and imaginative artworks. The Smith & Vallee gallery is open daily from 11am to 5pm.
