Anzac Day
There have been ceremonies all throughout Australia today marking Anzac Day and this afternoon CCN and I went down to the Blackheath Golf Club for the twilight Anzac Day Service. It's become quite a tradition at the club and many locals turned out to witness the very poignant and moving ceremony.
The Lithgow Pipe Band were there and really made the ceremony for us. CCN is a "Wee Scots Lass" and just loves the bagpipes, they bring her undone every time!!
I have added an extra which shows the flag lowering ceremony being performed by the Blackheath Rural Fire Service Captain and in the foreground the youngster who had the responsibility of playing the Last Post. The reason he's sitting down to play the bugle is because he had a serious skate board accident. Now that show's real grit and he wasn't a bit fazed by his injury as he performed a magnificent and emotional rendition.
We've had a wonderful couple of days with Jen, Hamish and Poppy. This morning we headed down to the Megalong Tea Rooms for a quick coffee as Jen hadn't been there before. It was a glorious day and the valley was looking its absolute best. Sad to say goodbye to the three musketeers, but l told the doggies in no uncertain terms that they must come back and visit us very soon.....oh, and Jen of course :-)
