Tiny Toes...
BACKBLIP
I won't dwell on the hell that was getting to bed last night. Suffice to say it took two hours from getting off the sofa to actually getting into bed, with only a small detour via the loo. I don't think I've felt pain this intense since I was in labour with Alan!
Thankfully once in bed, I was so shattered I zonked out completely. Woke briefly at 4am then slept till my alarm went off at 8.30am. The downside of sleeping downstairs in Alan's sitting room and using his shower room is I have to be up and dressed before his support worker arrives to get him up and dressed.
On a more positive note, after all the pain last night, I have finally figured out how to position my leg when sitting down to prevent (well 4 out of 5 times) the intense, painful spasm that makes my hip joint feel it's about to dislocate. I have to keep my leg as straight as I can and literally take all my weight through my arms as I sit. It doesn't work every time but enough to make moving and sitting less traumatic.
David has been a star again today and has insisted I rest as much as possible. He brought the big black chair from beside the piano into the living room and I sat on it with my feet up on a foot stool as the physio thinks that's a better position than having my legs along the sofa. He’s working from home tomorrow (Monday) and we’ll aim to make sure I’m completely independent before he’s back at work on Tuesday.
In other news Alan had a brilliant afternoon as he went to visit his Support Worker Gill who's still off after having an operation on her hand. They miss each other like crazy so I'm not sure who enjoyed the visit more. Alan was certainly in a great mood when he returned :-))
Today's blip was taken when I went for a little wander up the hall to make sure I wasn't seizing up completely. It's Alan's support worker Charlene's boots and they are so tiny, they always make me laugh when I see them sitting at the front door.
PS Many congratulations to my Blip Pal Math1e for his great time of 4 hours 18 minutes in the London Marathon yesterday. Well done that man! :D
