... to diamond :-)

When I hear diamond, the first thing that springs to my mind is the Mohs scale of hardness, where diamond takes number 10. Graphite, on the other hand, is somewhere between 1-2. It's fascinating that minerals of identical compositions have totally opposite properties. You can read why in the following link.
