'Fasting' week; another 'Star Wars machine' trip

Next weekend is Orthodox Easter so this week we're on a 'fast' though we don't do it very seriously; ie, we cut out meat and fish though it should be totally without animal products. So, I made a large quantity of lentil soup (without the bacon) and tonight we had some of that, then two of those great giant crumpets topped with cheddar cheese and two poached eggs. It's hardly a hardship.
I just had a phone call from the lovely speciality nurses at the hospital (my consultant is still away though I don't know what the situation with his father is) to say they want me to go in for an MRI scan within the next week. Quite exciting; I recently was, as mentioned in my blip, in one of the incredible machines they get you in now but MRI is new for me. In this week of the 'junior doctors' strike' ( what a silly term that is for these medics) I'm still getting the usual great attention and care. Health Minister Jeremy Hunt is lucky he's too far away for me to get at him.
By the way, Hattie loved the picture of her I blipped on Friday, so much so that she put it on her Facebook page, which her Mum told me she would do only if she really liked it. So thank you for your great comments about it. What is more, I had a phone call from the school today asking if they could use my pictures on the school website.
