Mrs Chaffinch

Several female chaffinches (Fringilla coelebs) around so obviously no eggs to sit on yet.

Managed an hour in the hide again this afternoon but not much going on.

On another matter, I'm wondering whether to invest in some more-expensive gear.  I love the versatility of the super-zoom bridge camera I have been using for the last 5 years, but I'm beginning to hanker after something that produces better quality.
I could do with something that has less noise and a wider aperture. Burst mode would be nice too.
Not sure if all that is possible without it costing an arm and a leg.
