Day 26 Alphabet April Z is for Zen Burner

This is one of two burners like this that we use at home....it just contains water and a few drops of scented oils...

We used to burn Yankee tarts and candles until we discovered how much damage we had to our walls and ceiling from burning them...

These burners are gentle and give a lovely background fragrance to our rooms and they're great in the kitchen to mask cooking smells too....this one is our kitchen one...

Well we got through our mammoth babysitting task without too many mishaps...Arron was adorable all day and even though he only slept for an hour he was very well behaved and kept us very busy!

Kerry survived her visit to the day surgery unit and although she's a bit sore, she's done very well. All in all a reasonable day.

I found myself contemplating the junior doctors strike this evening....it's due to start in England in about 8 hours....I have mixed feelings about it....my understanding is that the government want to take away extra payments for evening, weekend and bank holiday work and basically make the hours of the day the same irrespective of when they work in order to provide 24 hour care. For those who have worked in the NHS most of these things have already gone (under Agenda for Change) and many posts in my own profession were downgraded during the implementation of it....so I am struggling a bit with all of the talk about how unfair it is...
