On Friday the second Grand Tour de Yorkshire Cycle Race begins. Yellow bicycles and coloured bunting adorns the route and the final day sees riders racing from Middlesbrough to the finish in Scarborough. What an honour.

However North Yorkshire Highways seem to have wrong route . . . these parking restrictions are in force in Filey . . . and the race does not come here at all.

When I rang the relevant office I was told that they are expecting huge crowds and perhaps folk will be parking in Filey to walk to see the finish. I hope you all enjoy that 10 mile hike to the finishing line in North Bay !
