Harrogate Spa

We left Pickering in the throws of a snow storm this morning to travel to Harrogate. Richard was undergoing a proceedure to counteract a spine problem he is having. First signs are promising!

Whilst waiting to act as the chauffeur home Jet and I had time to kill so we went on a stroll around Harrogate eventually ending up in the Valley Gardens. This brought back memories of my grandparents who were regular visitors to Harrogate. My grandmother swore by the spa treatments for her arthritis. So here we have a pump room which was built due to the popularity of the nearby Magnesium Well recommended as a powerful diuretic. The extras - well I couldn't resist after yesterday is yet more Tour de Yorkshire decoration and the iconic Betty's Tea Rooms - although did not have time to pop in to try a Yorkshire Fat Rascal and tea!

On driving back East we encountered many squalls with sleet and snow. Fortunately I did manage to squeeze in a short, blustery but dry, bike ride. Now just settling down to watch the last episode of the A Word.
