Bench

This is our new bench made by a refugee out of pallets. We're hoping more people will want one and it will give him an income. It's my favourite place to sit - first thing in the morning and when I'm reading 'The Horse and His Boy' to the children during school. Trouble is, all the local boys rather like it too so there's often a load of them squeezed onto it!

I spent a fascinating afternoon with a refugee who just 8 months ago escaped from a city further south on a very dangerous journey with her children hidden under a pile of blankets. It was terrible hearing first- hand of the daily suffering in that city.
