Penistone with Pals
I've been walking up on the moors, Penistone Hill to be exact, with friends Helen and Jean today. The forecast was pretty bad so we all had several layers and hats and gloves. It was certainly very cold and breezy as we walked out of Haworth and up on to the Moor, but still with gloriously blue sky and clouds whizzing across above us. It didn't take us long to reach the far side of the moor and our first stop which was to view the development of the set for the new film about the Brontes. It has certainly moved on apace and is now a small hamlet, rather than just the Parsonage, built on the top carpark. This location will give views of the moors 360 degrees, but I will be interested to see how they hide the cricket club building a couple of hundred metres away! I also hope it will be warmer and calmer when they begin filming, although today's weather would be more in keeping.
From here we crossed the road and picked up the path to the Bronte Waterfalls, more of a dribble today, and then turned back to Haworth. We were lucky not to be showered on as, with our fine views, we could see shower clouds all around us. Just as we were comfortably seated in 'Cobbles and Clay' back in Haworth, the room darkened and it was snowing outside.
I've been playing with my free download of silver efex so this is my blip of the film set in black and white, not sure what I think.
Pals!
