London Marathon.

Today was Marathon day.
For those in our club not running the Marathon, we manned a Water Station at Canary Wharf.
Although not as hard a day as actually running the marathon, its a tough old day.
For a start we need to be at Canary Wharf for 8am to get the bottles of water off the trucks and stacked onto the tables. Then we have to get the packets opened and lids flipped up.
The first competitors (wheelchairs) come through about 10:30, the elite women about 11:00 and then they come thick and fast over the next 4-5 hours.

It was actually freezing at Canary Wharf.
It was a cold day anyway, but there is always a wind tunnel there because of the high buildings.
Us volunteers all had to wear our Buxton T-Shirts, which went over many layers of clothing and jackets.
Despite the long day, as you can see we had plenty of fun :-)
