Dipper

Possibly the clearest image I have to date of this bird that feeds on insect larvae and fresh water shrimps. In other parts of the Uk, it tends to live at higher altitudes along fast flowing rivers. The Scottish climate, and the Water of Leith, means get to see them quite a lot. They're very good swimmers, so once they dive in, it takes a lot of skill to try and work out where it will resurface.
