The Mariners Chapel
The Mariners Chapel stands in Gloucester docks. It is a very simple chapel built 165 years ago to cater to the spiritual needs of the seamen and dockworkers. Services were conducted in several languages and, following the purchase of a nearby warehouse, a coffee bar was set up where seamen were given help with their reading and writing.
This stained glass window was installed in 1996.
