Donne and Blake both wrote famous poems about blossom.
The Blake one is remembered because we weren't allowed to read it at school because our Teacher of English thought it was rude. So obviously we hot-footed it to the library to find out!
We read it many times, my classmates and I, never finding the mucky bit. Perhaps it had been edited out in the 'Schools Edition'?
The next visit to Ossett Library found me in the grown up adult section of Poetry. The same dozen lines. No extra dirty bit.
Apparently, it's not about blossom and sparrows and robins at all.
