Leaving Lisbon

As we flew off fairly early this morning and arrived home to a wet heavy grey gloom with rain and sleet interspersed, the only photos I have to show you tonight are the one or two shots I took from the aircraft as we took off. Fortunately we were sufficiently far back from the wings so they did not really intrude into the shot. The areas shown are the Babedela and Bairo de Santiago districts of Lisbon just to the east of the airport. The small tributary running into the Tagus River is the Rio de Loures and just to the south of that you can see the Ponte Vasco da Gamma which crosses over the Rio Tagus to Sao Francisco. It's just amazing how much you can learn from Google Earth.
