Coming into leaf

First blip of the year for the silver birch - a favourite tree of mine. I love watching the trees coming into leaf both in the garden and on the other side of the valley and it's all happening right now. This picture also shows the new drystane dyke which is where the heather bed used to be. A seat is going to be created on the inside curve of the dyke.
