Scrumptious at Six!

Wow! Six years old, already?!

What a year you've had! You've visited Santa; learned to ski; learned to swim; learned to love Everton (no influence from Daddy at all!); competed in your first running race; you've lost six teeth and you've grown so tall! You seem to grow in front of our eyes and a few weeks ago we had to replace all of your shoes! No wonder you are always hungry or hangry, as we've started saying!

You are such a sweet, affectionate and sensitive boy. You cry easily but you smile easily too and still love making us all laugh.
You love putting on a Geordie accent and one of your favourite phrases is: "I'll give you a knuckle sandwich lad!", as you hold up a fist (Granddad is to blame for that one). Your other favourite (rather bizarre) phrase is: "Wanna speak Dutch, man?" (we still have no idea where you got this one from!).
You also think you can speak Italian by adding an elongated 'aaaaa' to the end of all words. You find poo jokes, farts and burping hilarious. Recently you've started referring to yourself as 'The Dexter' and say things like: "Don't mess with the Dexter!" or "Don't boss the Dexter about!"

You're also very inquisitive and asked me recently: "Does Santa have a Mummy and Daddy?"

You find reading difficult and get frustrated sometimes, but you still love being read to and love looking at books. You seem to excel at maths at the moment and are always adding big numbers together and counting numerous objects.

For your birthday you asked if you could be the 'Boss' for the day like Olivia was on her sixth birthday. You chose to go swimming at the pool with the rapid river and then asked if we could go to a restaurant for pizza and ice-cream. They were great choices!
You also kindly obliged Mummy with a photo shoot at the bluebell forest near our home. I got a lovely photo of you and your sister together which will be treasured. I also got a photo of a grumpy Dexter because you were hangry, which will also be treasured!

We are all so proud of you and love you dearly.
Happy Birthday to The Dexter! xxx
