so, i went to my friend's younger sister's bat mitzvah today and decided to bring my new camera along for the ride. it's amazing the respect you command as soon as you start carrying around a DSLR. well, i can't call it my first professional shoot. but it was certainly an interesting experience, trying to shoot the party. i tried to get as many shots as i could without stepping on the hired photographers toes. Between the photographer, the dj company, and myself there were 4 photographers running around. The funny part was watching the employed photographers follow me around to emulate the shots that i had found first. i don't know if i would ever do it as a career, but it was definitely worth thinking about.
