Nisperos

A very local Mediterranean fruit......
this is the harvest season ....trees are laden, in gardens and in orchards
However, the truth is
....that this year the harvest is early....due to a warm winter...
And the fruits are smaller than usual......due to a lack of rain.

The neighbouring town of Callosa is dependent on the Nisperos.......the picking, grading, sorting, bottling, and tinning.....this year there is less work.

Nisperos don't travel very well.....they have to be very carefully packed........so fresh fruit, outside this area, are relatively rare.
